Twas the night before school starts and all through Eagle Nation
The kids were at the end of their summer vacation
Their clothes were laid out just ready to be worn
And their backpacks were zipped up and stuffed for the morn
The hallways were gleaming, shined up to a sheen
So much work was done to get them so clean
Crews worked all through the summer in the heat and the sweat
They deserve much more credit and thanks than they get
All the roads they were paved, some new walkways were poured
You like pickleball or basketball, we now have new courts
Mr Zoph walks the hallways, all up and down each
Tomorrow students will learn, and teachers will teach
The kids might be sad for the end of their break
But they also look forward, to see friends when they wake
The teachers and staff will soon all be there
Ready to help out the Eaglets that are put in their care
They finished their trainings, the curricula are in place
Safety measures are practiced and reviewed just in case
As we round out this poem the original’s so long
We welcome Eagle Nation. Let’s start the years strong
Go Eagles! Go Eagles!
Welcome back for the year
Let’s make this year special
Start strong and in high gear
We’re so glad to see you
All treats and no tricks
Let your inner light shine through
All of ‘25 and ‘26

🦅 Meet the Eagle Staff!
Say hello to Dr. Jessica Smogorzewski (aka Dr. S), our Curriculum/Instruction Coach & MSIP Coordinator! She’s new at Grandview R-II and has been in education for 13 years. Outside of school, she loves watching her kids play sports, reading, hiking, and traveling — and her dog Wally always keeps life interesting! 🐾

Tomorrow Friday August 15th and Saturday August 16th. The entire campus will have a paint crew here to add the parking lot lines, crosswalk lines, bumper barriers, ect. There will be many crews working in many different parts of the campus at one time.
Please be mindful of where they are working and if at all possible avoid being on campus those days.
Attached is a map showing the only areas of campus not affected by the paint. Highlighted yellow is where you are able to park those days if you must be on campus.
The VAST MAJORITY of the roads & parking lots will be getting painted.
The more the paint crew is able to be undisturbed the faster and more efficiently it will be completed.
Thank you.

Please limit any on campus traffic to very essential business. The asphalt company is beginning major work today on campus roads and parking areas and the less traffic on campus the earlier the job will be accomplished.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Unfortunately we have to inform all of the loss of another long term former member of Eagle Nation.
Dr. H. Michael Brown, former Superintendent of Schools, has passed away. His "country charm", dedication to Grandview and his love of education helped many students and staff members over his time here.
A celebration of life has been scheduled:
Saturday, June 7th
6:00–8:00 PM
220 Fair Oaks Drive, Oakland, TN 38060
He will be missed

From Coach Smith: To all elementary & MS girls! It's not too late to sign up for our girls basketball camp. Below is the information. Sign up anytime. Walk-ins are fine too! Of you want a shirt, email Coach Smith your size soon. Looking forward to a fun 3 days of basketball!

We have a few pics of some of the construction projects for this summer. New parking areas and sidewalks, a new basketball court, and a new pickleball court.
Thank you again for the improvements made possible by the Project Safe Eagles bond issue.

Campus Update – Resurfacing Work Begins Today (May 22, 2025)!
Starting today, resurfacing of campus driving and parking areas is underway and will continue for about a month. This is part of the Project Safe Eagles improvements funded by the April 2023 bond issue.
Please note: This work may impact multiple summer activities, including—but not limited to—youth baseball/softball, Grandview summer camps, and district sports workouts.
We ask everyone to use caution and avoid marked construction areas.
Thank you for your continued support!
